As popularly told in the media, Bill Evans started his broadcasting career in his hometown of Meridian, in Mississippi when he was only 13 years old. He started by working on both WTOK-TV and WDAL Radio, and this helped him gain useful experience at such an early age. After his graduation from Mississippi State University, he moved on to Jackson State University, where he added a meteorology degree to his already bagged business administration degree.

Evans worked as a host on WABB-FM and as a meteorologist for WALA-TV in Mobile, Alabama before finding his way to New York. He also handled a similar position in Dallas where he worked as a host for KHYI-FM and also as a meteorologist at WFAA-TV.

Bill Evans is now on WLNG Radio after spending some years as the Senior Meteorologist for Eyewitness News at Noon and Eyewitness News This Morning. He had been with WABC-TV since December 1989.

For years, he portrayed himself in ‘The Christmas Spectacular’ show at Radio City Music Hall. He has also portrayed Lumiere (the candlestick) on Broadway in ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
