Boosie Badazz was born on November 14, 1982, and was raised in Baton Rouge, a notorious place in Louisiana famous for drugs and gunplay. As a drug addict, his father struggled with addiction till he passed in 1997. Several reports suggest he was murdered. He has 7 siblings, and his mother was a schoolteacher.

He was nicknamed Boosie by his own parents, and was later Lil Boosie.  In his growing up days he was good at playing basketball, and his family hoped that his sports abilities would get him into a good college. However, Boosie’s involvement in drugs made sure he was kicked out of school.

When Boosie started rapping, his cousin brother named Young Bleed introduced him to the rapper C-Loc, who then accepted and mentored Boosie. In 1996 when he was age 14, Boosie joined the ‘Concentration Camp’ rap group as the youngest member in the group.

The group consisted of nine members including C-Loc and Young Bleed. Once he had joined the rap group, Boosie debuted on the fifth album of C-Loc, titled, ‘It’s a Gamble’, and eventually contributed to ‘Camp III: Thug Brothas’, an album of the Concentration Camp group.

His cousin Young Bleed left the group and his departure presented Boosie with the chance to take prime position in the group. In 2000, he recorded his first album ‘Youngest of da Camp’, and sought to forge a solo career for himself.

Boosie Badazz joined Pimp C’s Trill Entertainment in 2001, and released his album ‘For My Thugz’ and also his first mixtape ‘Boosie’ both in 2002. In 2004, he released a compilation mixtape ‘Bad Ass’ and the album ‘Both Sides of the Track’.

He collaborated with Lava House Records to provide ‘United We Stand, Divided We Fall’ in 2005. He also worked with Pat Lowrenzo to release ‘Street Code’, before signing a contract with Warner Bros. in the same year 2005.

This was followed by a string of releases which included mixtapes ‘Bad Ass Advance’, ‘DJ Drama (Gangsta Grillz)’, and ‘Streetz Iz Mine’, and also a DVD titled ‘Bad Azz’ where he revealed the death of his father due to drugs.

While in the prison for drug possession in 2010, he released a compilation CD with C-Loc titled ‘Unbreakable’. This was closely followed by the release of an album titled ‘Incarcerated’. A mixtape album ‘Gone Til’ was also released in the same year.

In 2014, following his release from prison, he signed a record contract with Atlantic Records, and was featured by several artists including 2 Chainz, DJ Mustard, Dorrough Music, and several others

Music aside, Badazz also tried his hand at acting and landed roles in several films including ‘Last Dayz and Ghetto Stories’, where he acted as a drug dealer.
