Brain Ross was born on October 23, 1948, in Chicago and was also raised there. He attended the University of IOWA journalism school and graduated in 1971. He has eight siblings, three brothers, and five sisters.

Career

Brian started out working for KWWL – TV in Waterloo, Iowa after graduation. He left there for WCKT – TV in Miami, Florida, and then WKYC – TV in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1974 he moved to NBC News as a national correspondent till 1994 when he left for ABC News.

Ross worked at ABC News for 24 years and left in 2018 as the Chief Investigator. He has done some impressive reporting in his career including a report on Jackie Presser and corruption in the Teamsters Union.

He has also reported on Mohammed Atta, describing him as the ring leader of the World Press Center and Pentagon Attacks.
