Creflo Dollar is an American televangelist. He is the founder of the non-denominational World Changers Church International which has its base in College Park, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, in the United States of America.

He is also the leader of the Creflo Dollar Ministerial Association (formerly known as International Covenant Ministries) and heads the Creflo Dollar Ministries, and Arrow Records.

Creflo Dollar’s Early Life

Creflo Augustus Dollar Jr. was born Michael Smith on 28 January 1962, in College Park, Georgia, Atlanta, to Emma Dollar and Creflo Augustus Dollar, Sr.

He attended Baptist Church School and then the West Georgia College, located in Carrollton, Georgia, from where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in science.

Immediately after he completed his studies in college, he decided to start up a business.

In 1986, Creflo started to develop his World Changers Ministries Christian Center. The first worship of this church was held in the cafeteria of Kathleen Mitchell Elementary School in College Park.

It was attended by only eight people. He later renamed the church WCCI (World Changers Church International).

Creflo Dollar’s Career

After starting up his church with a recorded eight people in attendance for the first time, Creflo moved the World Changers Church International to a designated chapel. He used to hold four services every Sunday.

At the same time, he would do a radio broadcast every week. In December 1995, his World Changers Church International moved to World Dome, which had a seating capacity of 8,500.

The World Dome was built with a sum of almost $20 million and did not receive financing from any bank. As of 2007, it recorded over $70 million in revenue and had almost 30,000 members.

In 2012, his ministries started a new church in New York after leasing The Bronx’s Loews Paradise Theater.

Creflo Dollar is also a known author and speaks at conferences as well. Most of the writings are composed of the gospel of prosperity. He has also written books about his career in televangelism.
