Dawn Davenport is an American journalist and television personality. She joined ESPN before the start of the 2013 college football season where she worked as a reporter on the ESPNU, and currently provides her broadcasting services as a sideline reporter for both ESPN and SEC Network. In addition to her sideline duties, this multi-talented award-winning sports journalist and anchor is recognized as the first full-time female sports radio personality in Nashville. Previously in her career, Dawn worked as a morning show host for WKRN-ABC in Nashville, Tennessee, for almost ten years. Born in Plano, Texas, in the United States, Ms. Davenport was raised in Atlanta. She is an honors graduate from Auburn University, and in December 2002, she bagged a degree in mass communications/radio, television, film. She was a three-year letterwinner and a two-time SEC Academic American member on the volleyball team. Prior to joining the three-hour-long morning news show, Dawn won an award as a weekend reporter and sports anchor for the station. She started her illustrious career at WWAY-ABC Wilmington, N.C., and then joined WRIC-ABC in Richmond, Va., where she played a big role as a part of the sports department that won two AP Awards for Best Year-Round Sports Coverage. Dawn Davenport, a well-known American sideline reporter who has been a part of the broadcast team at ESPN since 2013, was born on February 25, 1980, in Piano, Texas, United States. She spent most of her childhood days in Atlanta, Georgia, and equally completed her early education in the beautiful city. Dawn attended Auburn University from where she earned herself a degree in mass communications, radio, television, and film, graduating in 2002. While studying at Auburn, she also joined the school’s female volleyball team and graduated as a three-year letter winner. In addition, her strength in the beautiful game led her to become a two-time SEC Academic member.

Dawn Davenport started her professional career way back in March 2003, when she joined WWAY NewsChannel 3 to work as the network’s weekend sports reporter and anchor. Two years later, she moved to WRIC Young Broadcasting and served as the network’s sports anchor and reporter for nearly three years.
In 2008, Dawn made a career-decisive switch to the WKRN network, where she served as a sports anchor and reporter for a period of seven years. Concurrently, she has spent three years working as a morning news anchor for Young Broadcasting, starting from 2013.
