Three years later, he was appointed as the portfolio manager for the Fidelity Trend Fund and he managed the famous Fidelity Magellan Fund for fourteen years from 1963 to 1977. He then became the company’s president in 1972 and was appointed the chairman and chief executive officer five years later.
