Kidnappers in Kogi mercilessly murder pastor following ransom payment.

Pastor David Musa, a clergyman affiliated with the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), met a tragic end at the hands of his abductors in Kogi State after a ransom of N1 million was paid.

The incident unfolded on Saturday, November 11, 2023, when Pastor Musa was kidnapped in Obajana, Lokoja local government area. Unfortunately, he was later killed on Tuesday despite the ransom payment.

Mary, a member of the church, recounted the grim details of the pastor’s demise, stating, “The Pastor went to his farm that fateful day. His wife, expecting his return, grew concerned when he didn’t come back. By nightfall, she raised an alarm, prompting church members and community residents to search for him at his farm.”

“It was during this search that they discovered the Pastor had been kidnapped. The abductors contacted the family, initially demanding N20 million. Unable to raise such a sum, the church and the family pleaded with the kidnappers, who eventually reduced the ransom to N1 million.”

Mary continued, “The kidnappers insisted that along with the money, the church should provide recharge cards, chicken, and various alcoholic drinks for their consumption. Two church members were chosen to deliver the ransom and the requested items.”

“When they reached the kidnappers’ location, they found our Pastor still alive. The kidnappers then instructed Pastor Musa and the two church members to start heading home. Tragically, they later called the Pastor to return, and he complied, knowing there was no escape from their heavily armed captors.”

“Upon his return to them, they immediately opened fire, resulting in his untimely death. Subsequently, his lifeless body was transported back to Obajana, plunging both the Church and the community into deep mourning.

The tragic news of Pastor Musa’s murder initially surfaced on the church’s social media platform on Wednesday morning. The brief announcement conveyed the somber message: ‘With a heavy heart and complete submission to the will of God, I regret to inform you that our brother, Pastor Musa David, has been killed by his abductors after they received a ransom of one million naira last night. Let our prayers surround the family, the Church, and the DCC during this challenging moment.’
