Kunle Remi Celebrates Birthday Today, Receives Wishes From Friends

Kunle Remi, a popular actor and the heart of many Nigerian ladies, is celebrating his 36th birthday in a unique way.

He sent a poignant message on social media, stating that it was the ideal time to congratulate himself.

Kunle, who married his lovely wife Tiwi in January 2024, sarcastically defined himself as half-human and a full-screen god in his article.

His colleagues in the industry, including Nancy Isime, Toke Makinwa, Broda Shaggi, and Bimbo Ademoye.

Recall that, Kunle Remi, who played Saro in Anikulapo, is not among the cast members returning for the second season.

Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan announced the cast on Instagram and confirmed Netflix renewed the show after its successful first season.

The director also hinted that the new season will delve deeper into Nigerian history and culture, including the slave trade.

Kunle Afolayan captioned the post. “Introducing the new stars and talents of the Anikulapo series…” Back and bigger than ever.

Netflix reveals a new season of Anikulapo!!!! We are excited to report that Netflix has renewed Anikulapo for another exciting season!”

Returning cast members include Sola Sobowale, Bimbo Ademoye, Gabriel Afolayan, Owo Ogunde, Aisha Lawal, and Eyiyemi Afolayan.

However, the absence of Kunle Remi, who played Saro—the primary character in the first season—has caused concerns.

Saro’s character was significant, depicting a man striving to better his life but confronting catastrophe as a result of his affair with the king’s wife, Arolake.After an unexpected death, Saro is resurrected by Akala, a mystical bird capable of giving life.

Saro earns stature in the community of Ojumo thanks to his new abilities, but pride soon takes over, causing him to make perilous demands to bring back the dead.

The first installment of Anikulapo, a Netflix original, premiered on September 30, 2022. Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre was available for streaming beginning March 1, 2024. It was written by Shola Dada, directed and produced by Kunle Afolayan.
