KWAM 1’s Daughter, Dami Marshall, Denies Dating Rumours With Asake

Dami Marshall, the daughter of legendary Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has firmly dismissed rumours suggesting that she is romantically involved with Afrobeats star Asake.

The speculation began after Dami shared a photograph of herself with Asake at a recent public event. The image, which she captioned “Mr Money and Mrs Money,” quickly went viral across social media platforms and entertainment blogs, triggering widespread assumptions that the two were in a romantic relationship. Several online blogs amplified the narrative, presenting the photo as evidence of a budding romance between the celebrity figures.

Reacting to the growing rumours, Dami took to her Instagram page to clarify the situation and debunk the claims. She explained that the photograph was taken during her first-ever meeting with the singer and that the caption was not intended to imply any romantic involvement.

“Guys, that was my first time meeting him, so I took a picture. Do not believe blogs, they can do anything for traffic,” she wrote, urging the public to disregard unverified reports and sensational headlines.

Her response effectively shut down the rumours, with many social media users commending her for addressing the issue directly rather than allowing speculation to linger. Others also used the opportunity to criticise some entertainment blogs for spreading unconfirmed stories in pursuit of online engagement.

Dami Marshall, who generally maintains a low profile despite being the daughter of one of Nigeria’s most influential Fuji artists, has rarely been in the spotlight for matters relating to her personal life. Her swift clarification reflects a growing trend among public figures who choose to address misinformation head-on in an era dominated by social media speculation.

Asake, on the other hand, is known for keeping his private life away from public scrutiny. The award-winning singer, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, has consistently avoided discussing his relationships in interviews or on social media. He has not been publicly linked to any romantic partner since reports emerged in 2024 about his separation from his former Gambian girlfriend, popularly known as Madame Mystique.

Neither Asake nor his management team has made any official statement regarding the recent rumours involving Dami Marshall.

The incident highlights the intense public interest surrounding celebrities and how casual interactions or light-hearted social media posts can quickly be misconstrued. It also underscores ongoing concerns about misinformation within the entertainment media space, where speculation often spreads faster than verified facts.

For now, Dami Marshall’s clarification appears to have put the matter to rest, reinforcing her stance that not every public appearance or social media post should be interpreted as confirmation of a romantic relationship.
