Lagos Police Arrest Woman Over Alleged Fatal Stabbing of Younger Sister in Agege

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 30-year-old woman, Mary Ibekwe, over the alleged fatal stabbing of her younger sister, 18-year-old Favour Uka, during a domestic dispute in the Agege area of Lagos State. The tragic incident, which has sparked widespread concern and renewed conversations around domestic violence and anger management, occurred on the evening of Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

According to information made public by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, the incident was reported to the police at about 8:20 p.m. Makama disclosed the development through a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, citing official police sources familiar with the matter.

Police reports indicate that the incident took place at No. 22 Anikulapo Street, Pen Cinema axis of Agege, a densely populated residential area in Lagos. The case was reportedly brought to the attention of the authorities by a relative, identified as Ikechukwu Uka, who alerted the police after the disagreement between the two sisters escalated into violence.

According to preliminary findings, Mary Ibekwe and her younger sister, Favour, engaged in a heated argument, the cause of which has not yet been officially disclosed by investigators.
