Lorraine Kelly Clarifies Future Plans After Sparking Retirement Speculation
Favourite TV personality Lorraine Kelly has revealed that, despite celebrating an amazing 40 years in the spotlight, she is not eager to retire.
The TV personality is riding high right now. She just published a new book, relished being a grandma to tiny Billie, and received a coveted BAFTA award in recognition of her significant contribution to the broadcast industry.
Some people would think Lorraine should slow down as her 65th birthday approaches at the end of November, but she won’t have it.
Lorraine remarked in a candid interview with Hello! magazine: “I’ve always said if the day comes when I think I don’t really want to go to work, I will stop.”
Lorraine has been waking us up with a grin on her namesake ITV show, Lorraine, since 2010, following years of brightening mornings on GMTV.
This month, she was showered with affectionate shout-outs as a result of the heartwarming documentary ‘Lorraine Kelly: 40 Unforgettable Years’, which allowed audiences to peep beyond the curtain of her successful career and personal life.
TV giants such as Susanna Reid of Good Morning Britain and former colleague Piers Morgan have praised Lorraine Stanley from EastEnders.
Piers aptly described her personality: “Lorraine is an iron fist in a velvet glove.” She constructs a persona that people perceive to be very innocuous, very lovely, and extremely cheerful, but underneath she is a proper journalist.”
