NDLEA Say’s “Mohbad was not poisoned in our custody”

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has refuted allegations that the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, was poisoned during his time in the agency’s custody.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, in a post on September 16, clarified that Mohbad was not one of the Marlian Music artists or any of the individuals arrested by the agency in 2022. Thus, it would have been impossible for Mohbad to have been poisoned while in their custody.

Babafemi’s response was prompted by a video circulating online, where the deceased singer claimed he had been harassed and forced to consume a white substance while in NDLEA custody.

The video showed Mohbad distressed in what appeared to be a hospital setting, sharing his experience of being held by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)

MohBad stated in the video that he was given a bottle of water to drink, which they claimed had drugs in it. He was the only one who drank it, and then they told him to leave while the others were made to wait. Additionally, a gun was held to his head. He also mentioned that Zinoleesky snitched on him.

In response to these accusations, Babafemi provided a link to a report by TheCable Lifestyle, which detailed the arrest of six individuals, including Zinoleesky.

The report, which is said to be authentic, disproves the claims that MohBad was poisoned or detained by the agency. Babafemi hopes that those spreading false news will have the courage to defend their claims
