NPF Condemns VDM Use Of Police Uniforms

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has strongly condemned the misuse of police uniforms by social media personality Mr. Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

This comment comes in response to the recent release of a video on VDM’s social media accounts in which he appears to be donning official police clothing without legal authorisation.

In response, the NPF conducted a thorough inquiry to determine the origin of the police uniforms seen in the film and if VeryDarkMan had any official authorisation to wear them.

According to a statement made by The Force, the goal is to identify the source of the police gear and examine potential violations of conduct.

“As the police launch an investigation into the dispersion of VDM videos.

The Nigeria Police Force strongly condemns the unauthorised usage of official uniforms and accessories by online personality Mr. Martins Otse, often known as “VDM,” in a video released on his social media channels.

The Force categorically denounces this unauthorised portrayal and has begun a complete inquiry to discover the source of the Police gear used, as well as the authority under which he operated.

Unauthorised use of Police uniforms, insignia, or accoutrements is a criminal offence under Section 251 of the Criminal Code Law and Section 133 of the Penal Code Law, with severe penalties.”

“While the Nigeria Police Force recognises and encourages young Nigerians’ innovation in the content production sector, we strongly discourage the usage of police uniforms or symbols.

Unauthorised use of these things undermines the Force’s ideals and integrity, and will not be permitted.”
