Seth Adams Meyers was born on 28 December 1973 in Evanston, Illinois, United States. He experienced the early part of his childhood in Okemos, Michigan, before moving to Bedford, New Hampshire.
He was born to Laurence Meyers Jr. and Hilary Claire. His father, Laurence, worked in finance, while his mother worked as a French teacher.

Seth first began school at Edgewood Elementary in Okemos before moving to Manchester High School West in New Hampshire to continue his education. He joined Northwestern University in Evanston for his college education, where he belonged to the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.
