Taraba gov swears in ex-speaker as special adviser,16 perm secs

On Thursday, Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba, officially appointed Josiah Kente as his Special Adviser on Political Matters, alongside 16 new Permanent Secretaries, during a ceremony at the Government House in Jalingo.

 

In his address, Kefas emphasized the critical role of integrity, professionalism, and commitment in public service. He urged the newly appointed officials to strive for excellence in their roles and highlighted the significant influence their decisions would have on the people of Taraba and the progress of his administration.

 

“You are essential to our governance framework. The citizens of Taraba will experience the results of your leadership through your daily decisions and how you approach your duties,” he stated. Kefas encouraged the appointees to keep in mind that his administration prioritizes good governance, effective service delivery, teamwork, and professionalism, and to embody these values in their work.

 

Speaking on behalf of his fellow appointees, Kente expressed gratitude to the governor for the trust placed in them and assured their commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities. As a former speaker of the Taraba House of Assembly, he affirmed their dedication to serving with integrity and aligning their efforts with the governor’s vision of inclusive governance.

 

“Thank you, Your Excellency, for this chance to positively impact our political landscape. I am aware of the responsibilities that come with this position, and I commit to serving with honesty, transparency, and diligence,” Kente said.

On behalf of my fellow appointees, I assure you that we are dedicated to supporting your vision of inclusive governance and ensuring that our political direction reflects the hopes and needs of all citizens.”

 

Kente concluded by expressing eagerness to collaborate with other members of the administration and political leaders, emphasizing the importance of strengthening democratic institutions to foster the growth of the state. “I am confident that together, we can navigate the challenges of our political landscape and create meaningful change,” he stated.
