Whole Soyinka Invited To Speak At Africa Alive In 2024

Wole Soyinka, the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, will be the esteemed VIP speaker at Africa Alive! An exclusive assembly of Harvard professors, alumni, and students enthusiastic about Africa’s future is scheduled for 2024.

A declaration signed by Tomas Felcman on behalf of Africa Alive!, the 2024 organising group, said that the event will be held from 11 October to 13, 2024.

“Professor Soyinka will be the guest of honour at our event, providing unmatched observations, tales, and insights. His presence is expected to make Africa Alive! 2024 a remarkable and remarkable event.

In addition to being a well-known dramatist, poet, author, and essayist, Mr. Soyinka is a visionary whose writings have influenced countless numbers of people.

His steadfast dedication to defending freedom of speech and human rights has made a lasting impression and sparked an international movement.Soyinka was the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986.

His amazing work comprises over 25 plays, 10 essays, seven poetry collections, five memoirs, three novels, and two translated works.

Between 1967 to 1969, Mr. Soyinka was detained politically because to an article he wrote in which he called for an end to the civil war in Nigeria.

The Man Died: Prison Notes, a gripping book detailing his experiences, hardships, and perseverance in the face of overwhelming adversity, was inspired by his imprisonment and published in 1972.
