Applications are open for Phase 5 of the McIntyne Hope Foundation and National Youth Service (NYS) Youth Unemployment Programme in South Africa.
The six-month community service programme is designed to give unemployed young people an opportunity to gain practical work experience while contributing to community development.
The programme is available to eligible South African youths aged 18 to 35 who are currently unemployed and interested in gaining workplace experience.
Available Positions
Applicants can apply for opportunities in different areas, including:
- Educator Assistants
- Administrative Assistants
- Content Creators
- Kitchen Assistants
- Cleaners
- Gardeners
- Facilities and Maintenance
- Safety and Security
- General Workers
- Child Minders and Homework Advisors
Successful participants will be placed in community service roles in Roodepoort and surrounding areas.
Programme Duration
The programme will run for six months.
Participants will gain practical experience while supporting community-focused activities in their respective roles.
Who Can Apply?
The opportunity is targeted at:
- South African citizens
- Young people aged 18 to 35
- Unemployed youths
- Applicants who are available to participate in the six-month community service programme

Stipend
Participants will receive a stipend of R24.18 per hour, based on 64 hours of work per month.
This works out to approximately R1,547 per month.
