'I have never considered marriage' - Ini Edo Announces

Well-known Nigerian actress Ini Edo has responded to rumours that she would be married soon.

Remember that the rumours gained popularity in September 2024 when Ini Edo posted a picture of herself on her official page wearing a traditional Efik bridal gown along with a love message.

The actress confirmed that the tweet was a promotion for her upcoming four-part series, “My Fairytale Wedding,” rather than an engagement announcement, though, in her most recent interview with Premium Times.

Ini Edo stated that she no longer prioritises marriage when asked if she ever imagined having a real-life fantasy wedding.

“Having a strong relationship is what I’m crazy about—not marriage. It’s not something I pray about, and I’m not hoping for it.

It was not too long that Ini Edo revealed that she never wanted to become an actress. Instead, she would have opted for a career in Law or Broadcasting.

The actress was previously wed to Philip Ehiagwina, a Nigerian-American businessman, according to the DAILY POST. 2008 saw the couple’s marriage end in divorce in 2014.

Ini Edo has disclosed that she once intended to become an actress but chose to pursue a career in law or newscasting.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the mother of one who revealed the information said that she always enjoyed watching the late Tokunbo Ajayi, who served as her role model.

She stated that although she never truly intended to be an actor, she feels that this is her destiny because, while she was waiting to go to law school, she obtained a diploma in theatre art.

Later, she began performing on stage, and suddenly, she had the chance to work on a movie.
