CDCFIB Releases List of Successful Applicants for 2025 Recruitment Exercise

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially released the names of successful applicants who participated in its recently concluded recruitment exercise into four major paramilitary agencies in Nigeria — the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The announcement was made on Wednesday night, October 29, 2025, in an official statement signed by the Board’s Secretary, Maj. Gen. A.M. Jibril (Rtd.), and made available to the press through Very Nigerian News. According to the statement, all applicants who took part in the exercise can now verify their application status by logging onto the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng beginning Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Maj. Gen. Jibril explained that the online portal will not only confirm the status of each applicant but also provide details of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for shortlisted candidates — including specific information such as date, time, and venue. Applicants were therefore urged to log in frequently and adhere strictly to all official instructions as contained on the website.

He further emphasized that the recruitment process remains transparent, fair, and merit-driven, warning the public to ignore messages from unofficial or third-party sources claiming to represent the CDCFIB. “The Board has not authorized any individual or group to act as intermediaries or to collect money in exchange for recruitment assistance,” Jibril stated. He cautioned Nigerians against fraudsters who often prey on job seekers during recruitment seasons, promising them preferential treatment in exchange for bribes.

Strengthening National Security Through Recruitment

The ongoing recruitment drive, according to the CDCFIB, is part of the federal government’s effort to reinforce national security, border protection, and public safety. Each of the four paramilitary agencies under the Board’s supervision plays a strategic role in national defence and internal stability — from managing correctional facilities to safeguarding borders, responding to fire emergencies, and ensuring civilian protection.

This round of recruitment is expected to address manpower shortages and improve operational efficiency within these agencies. The Board also reiterated that shortlisted candidates must undergo a series of verification stages, including documentation, aptitude tests, and physical screening, before final appointments are confirmed.

Public Reactions: Praise, Frustration, and Skepticism

Following the announcement, social media and online discussion platforms such as Nairaland were abuzz with mixed reactions. While some users expressed excitement and optimism, others voiced frustration over technical issues and alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.

One user congratulated successful applicants, writing, “Congratulations to the favoured ones. Nigeria has positively happened to these ones.” Another complained that the official website was temporarily inaccessible, saying, “It is not opening ooo,” as others echoed similar experiences while trying to access the portal.

Critics also raised concerns about transparency and political interference, suggesting that “senators and powerful figures” might have influenced the final shortlist. “These are people senators submitted, and na manual registration them do,” one commenter claimed. Another added, “Why not make everything transparent—publish everyone’s score, show the process clearly, and let merit decide?”

However, several others dismissed these suspicions, urging patience as the Board completes verification and portal updates. “Wishing everyone success,” one user wrote. Another participant humorously commented, “Congratulations in advance, guys — one more dorime!”, celebrating his alleged shortlisting.

A Call for Calm and Vigilance

In response to the overwhelming public interest, the CDCFIB once again reminded Nigerians that only the official portal and email communications from the Board should be trusted. Any discrepancies or conflicting information from social media or third-party recruitment agencies should be treated as fraudulent.

The agency further reassured the public that all qualified applicants — regardless of background, ethnicity, or political affiliation — would be treated equally under its merit-based selection criteria. Successful candidates will receive official notifications through email and text messages in the coming days, followed by instructions on the next stages of the recruitment process.

A Step Toward National Stability

The 2025 CDCFIB recruitment marks another step in the government’s ongoing efforts to professionalize Nigeria’s paramilitary sector and reduce unemployment among the nation’s youth. By recruiting new officers across the NCoS, NIS, FFS, and NSCDC, authorities aim to enhance the country’s overall security framework and reinforce essential public institutions.

As thousands of Nigerians rush to check their names on the recruitment portal, the message from the Board remains clear: be patient, stay vigilant, and rely only on verified information.
