Nigerian Air Force Begins 2025 Recruitment for Airmen and Airwomen

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially opened its online recruitment portal for the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC 46/2025), inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for enlistment as Airmen and Airwomen.

In a statement released on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, the NAF announced that the application is free and will run from October 14 to November 25, 2025. Interested candidates are to complete their registration through the official recruitment website — nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.

According to the statement, applicants must print out the following documents after completing the online form:

  • Acknowledgement Slip

  • Parent/Guardian Consent Form

  • Local Government Area (LGA) Attestation Form

The attestation form must be duly signed by an authorized official, such as:

  • A military officer from the applicant’s state not below the rank of Wing Commander (or equivalent in the Army or Navy)

  • A Chief Superintendent of Police or higher

  • A Local Government Chairman/Secretary

  • A Magistrate

Additionally, the form must include the signee’s passport photograph and a copy of valid identification, such as a driver’s licence, national ID card, or international passport.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens by birth.

  • Be physically, medically, and psychologically fit, according to NAF standards.

  • Have no prior criminal convictions.

Height requirements:

  • Male applicants: minimum 1.66m

  • Female applicants: minimum 1.63m

Educational Qualifications

  • Non-Tradesmen/Women: Must be between 18 and 22 years old and possess a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS.

  • Tradesmen/Women: Must be between 18 and 27 years old, hold a National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with at least a Lower Credit, plus the same five-credit O’level requirement.

Applicants for driving or technical roles must also present a valid Trade Test Certificate and Driver’s Licence, while sportsmen and sportswomen are expected to submit proof of professional experience, such as medals or certificates.

The NAF emphasized that the recruitment process is transparent and free of charge, warning applicants to beware of fraudsters.

The zonal aptitude test for shortlisted candidates will be announced later on the recruitment portal.
