Bobrisky Files Lawsuits Against EFCC And N/Ass
Famous socialite Bobrisky files a N1.2 billion lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the National Assembly, accusing them of violating his fundamental rights.
Bobrisky has been engaged in controversy since activist Verydarkman released a purported audio clip in which he claimed to have handed EFCC officials N15 million in exchange for the dismissal of money laundering allegations against him.
Bobrisky was released on August 5 after being convicted of abusing the naira on April 12 and sentenced to six months in prison.
Following his release, it was claimed that he never spent his sentence in jail.
The National Assembly had summoned Verydarkman, who had made the claim, and Bobrisky to appear before it.
On Saturday, Bobrisky shared on Instagram a court order dated October 10 that prohibited the EFCC and National Assembly from harassing, detaining, or proclaiming him wanted.
In the case, he claimed that the EFCC had summoned him for questioning based on a hearsay WhatsApp call uploaded by VeryDarkMan, without checking the validity of the tape.
He said that this resulted in online mocking, threats from unknown individuals, and a violation of his privacy.
The crossdresser seeks N200 million from the EFCC for mental pain and N1 billion from the National Assembly for violating his right to a fair hearing.
