Boomplay Creates New Language Option For The Hausa Audience
Boomplay strives its efforts for better user experiences on its platform by emphasising unique features and relevant content for its users.
The local languages added to the streaming platform will meet the needs of Boomplay’s growing regional user base.
Boomplay is intentionally targeting the nearly 80 million Hausa speakers in the West African region, with 50 million of them in northern Nigeria.
Ibrahim O. Kadiri, General Manager for Boomplay Nigeria, commented on the introduction of the Hausa platform, saying, “Introducing local languages, particularly Hausa, on Boomplay is well in line with our goal of expanding to a new and broader demographic and connecting more music lovers to the content preferences they enjoy.
Language bears sentimental and cultural meaning for people, thus by making our platform available in Hausa, we not only acknowledge our audience’s linguistic variety, but also ensure that our service is relevant and accessible to everybody.
This step demonstrates our commitment to providing an improved music streaming experience and content to all members of the African music community.”
The expansion is part of Boomplay’s strategy and commitment to offering inclusive and accessible music experiences to a wide range of music fans while also encouraging hyperlocal content.
When users select a language, they can activate the Hausa language in their profile settings.
The activation provides consumers with a seamless and culturally relevant experience, including Hausa-language content, curated music, podcasts, and user-friendly navigation.
