Desmond Elliott Responds To Gistlover Amidst Gay Claims

Desmond Elliot, a Nollywood actor-turned-politician, responds to recent charges after his name was included on a list of Nigerian celebrities accused of same-sex relationships.

The charges sparked a firestorm on social media after being published by the notorious blog Gistlover, with many netizens responding angrily to the individuals on the list.

Desmond Elliot discussed the claim frankly in a recent TVC interview, calling it “baseless” and fuelled by “malicious gossip.”

He stressed that he had far more serious matters to address, notably in his political career and efforts to improve the lives of his citizens.

“Why would I respond to claims against me if they had no impact on my life? Secondly, an opinion is being formed.”

“And I don’t believe it’s important for me to come out and say whether it’s true or not; as long as I’m making people happy, I’m fine. So let me make it very obvious that I am straight” he remarked.

Elliot’s comments come as several Nigerian public figures call for a halt to the propagation of unconfirmed accusations and character attacks on social media.

In February, Desmond Elliot, a famous actor-turned-politician, was serenaded with prayers and well wishes as he celebrates his 49th birthday.

The Surulere constituency politician, who was previously chastised for exchanging ludicrous presents during a time of national hunger, shared a video on his Instagram profile commemorating his birthday.

He expressed thankfulness for reaching the age of 49, reflecting on how much he had to be thankful for during the previous 20 years.

Desmond Elliot stated that his only life goals were excellent health, family, love, friends, happiness, fulfilment, grace, and favour. He made sure to praise his Creator, praising Him for consistently giving him reasons to be thankful.
