Working Nigerians who need a laptop, smartphone, tablet or other digital device for work, learning or business can now apply for the Federal Government’s Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) programme.

The initiative is a consumer credit scheme introduced by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy and the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme.

Rather than paying the full cost of a device upfront, eligible applicants can access affordable credit and repay over an agreed period through participating financial institutions.

What Is the C.L.I.C.K.D. Programme?

C.L.I.C.K.D. stands for Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Devices.

It is one of CREDICORP’s flagship initiatives aimed at making digital devices more accessible to Nigerians. The programme is expected to support workers, entrepreneurs, students and digital professionals who need reliable technology to improve their productivity and participate in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

Through the scheme, eligible applicants may be able to purchase approved digital devices, including:

  • Laptops
  • Smartphones
  • Tablets
  • Internet connectivity devices
  • Other approved knowledge and digital productivity devices

The programme also encourages the purchase of locally assembled devices, supporting local manufacturers while expanding access to technology across the country.

Who Can Apply?

The C.L.I.C.K.D. programme is open to eligible working Nigerians.

During the pilot phase, priority is being given to selected groups, including 3MTT fellows and other eligible applicants who meet the programme’s requirements.

To qualify, applicants are generally expected to have:

  • A verifiable means of identification.
  • A stable source of income.
  • The ability to repay the credit.
  • Any additional requirements specified by participating financial institutions.

As the programme expands, more Nigerians are expected to become eligible.

How Does the Scheme Work?

The C.L.I.C.K.D. programme is not a grant and it is not free device distribution.

Instead, it provides consumer credit, allowing successful applicants to obtain approved digital devices and repay the cost over time according to the agreed repayment terms.

The financing is provided through participating financial institutions working with CREDICORP.

Benefits of the C.L.I.C.K.D. Programme

The programme is designed to make digital technology more accessible while reducing the financial burden of buying expensive devices outright.

Some of the expected benefits include:

  • Affordable access to laptops, smartphones and other digital devices.
  • Flexible repayment plans.
  • Increased access to digital tools for work, education and business.
  • Support for locally assembled technology products.
  • Opportunity to build a positive consumer credit history through responsible repayment.

Things to Know Before Applying

Before submitting your application, keep these important points in mind:

  • The programme provides credit, not cash grants.
  • Meeting the eligibility requirements does not automatically guarantee approval.
  • All information provided during the application must be accurate.
  • Do not pay anyone claiming to guarantee approval or speed up your application.
  • Apply only through official CREDICORP channels.

Why the Programme Matters

Access to digital devices has become increasingly important for education, remote work, entrepreneurship and digital skills development.

However, the cost of purchasing laptops and other technology devices remains a challenge for many Nigerians.

The C.L.I.C.K.D. programme is designed to reduce that barrier by allowing eligible applicants to spread the cost of approved devices over time instead of making a one-time payment.

The initiative also supports the Federal Government’s efforts to expand digital inclusion, strengthen the country’s digital economy and increase access to technology for more Nigerians.

Bottom Line

The Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) programme offers eligible working Nigerians access to own digital devices without paying the full cost upfront.

If you need a laptop, smartphone, tablet or other approved digital device for work, learning or business, you can submit an application through the official CREDICORP platform and wait for the outcome of the assessment process.

As with every government opportunity, applicants should avoid unofficial websites, agents or individuals requesting payment for registration or guaranteed approval.
