Luke Bryan Walks Back Comments on Beyoncé’s Absence from CMA Awards

Luke Bryan has clarified his thoughts on Beyoncé’s lack of nominations for the forthcoming 2024 CMA Awards.

The 48-year-old country musician went viral after declaring that Cowboy Carter, 43, needs to “get in the family” of country music in order to be recognised by the CMA Awards.

“Hey everyone, I’m ending up the final night of my tour tonight, and it’s been an incredible experience. For that, I am grateful,” he began in a statement on social media, addressing “the absurd tone” of conversation following his SiriusXM interview with Andy Cohen.

Luke claimed that a “false narrative” was being pushed and urged followers to “listen to the interview” for full context.

“You will hear my tone and intentions, which are not bad. I admire Beyonce and appreciate how devoted her fans are.

I devote a lot of effort to promoting other artists. I want everybody to win. “Love yall,” he continued.

The Country Music Association has announced the full list of nominees for the 2024 CMA Awards, and Beyoncé, who became the first Black woman to top the Billboard Top Country Albums chart with Cowboy Carter and the Hot Country Songs chart with her hit “Texas Hold ‘Em,” has received no nominations.
