“Women Controls The Entertainment Industry” – Bovi Declares
During his latest appearance on TVC’s Your View, the panel examined Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with a focus on women’s responsibilities.
On the subject of women’s possibilities and the fight for equality in the sector, the actor claimed that women already rule the industry.
He proceeded: “Women need to understand that in areas where they are fighting for equality, sometimes they may have conquered but because they are used to fighting, they don’t know that they’ve won.”
“You discuss the entertainment industry and how it can benefit women.” However, I saw 10 or 15 years ago that women genuinely dominate the entertainment sector. So, what are we talking about? He added.
Bovi noted that women have played an important role in influencing the entertainment environment during the last decade.
He went on, “I’m talking as far back as the time of Amaka Igwe. Funke Akindele, a woman, has scored the largest box office success. Mo Abudu, the second highest box-office hit, is also a woman.
They are the largest producers. Bolanle Austin-Peters is one of the top producers. Jade Osibero is one of the most prominent directors since Kemi Adetiba. The largest film festival is held by Chioma Ode. “So, what are you saying?”
Bovi, who listed more names of famous women in the entertainment business, claimed that women’s fight for equality was already won.
He added, “We also have Omoni Oboli, Uche Jombo, and Genevieve Nnaji. So you must comprehend that women are running the entertainment industry.
So when I see young ladies screaming about male producers demanding sex for roles, I think, ‘Yes, it’s real. But who did you cry to? Who have you spoken with? “You own the industry.”
