CDCFIB Clarifies Recruitment Process, Excludes Board and Secretariat Applicants From Physical Screening

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced that applicants who applied for positions within its Board and Secretariat will not participate in the ongoing physical screening exercise currently being conducted for candidates in the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise.

The clarification follows the activation of the CDCFIB recruitment portal on June 15, 2026, which allows successful candidates from the Computer-Based Test (CBT) stage to verify their screening status and proceed with the next phase of the recruitment process.

According to the Board, the physical screening exercise is strictly for applicants who applied to the various paramilitary agencies under its supervision, while those who selected positions within the CDCFIB Board or Secretariat will follow a separate recruitment process.

Board and Secretariat Applicants to Be Invited for Interviews

In a notice issued by the Board, CDCFIB explained that shortlisted candidates seeking employment within the Board and Secretariat will not be required to activate the portal for physical screening.

Instead, successful applicants in this category will be contacted directly and invited for an interview at a later date.

The Board stated that details regarding interview schedules, venues, and other requirements will be communicated through the official CDCFIB recruitment portal and other approved communication channels when arrangements have been concluded.

What Other Applicants Should Do

Candidates who sat for the CBT examination and applied for positions in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), or Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) have been advised to visit the recruitment portal to verify their status and carefully follow the instructions provided.

Applicants who have been shortlisted for the physical screening stage are expected to complete the activation process and prepare the required documents ahead of their screening dates.

CDCFIB Warns Against Recruitment Scams

The Board also used the opportunity to caution applicants against fraudsters who may attempt to exploit the recruitment exercise.

CDCFIB stressed that the entire recruitment process remains completely free of charge and that no applicant is required to pay money to secure employment, gain access to screening venues, or obtain placement on any shortlist.

Candidates were advised to ignore unofficial websites, fake social media posts, fraudulent text messages, and individuals claiming they can influence the recruitment outcome for a fee.

According to the Board, all verified updates regarding the recruitment exercise will only be released through the official CDCFIB recruitment portal and recognised government communication channels.

Applicants Advised to Await Official Updates

While physical screening has commenced for eligible candidates, Board and Secretariat applicants are encouraged to remain patient and monitor official announcements for information regarding their interview stage.

The Board reiterated its commitment to conducting a transparent and merit-based recruitment process and urged applicants to rely solely on official sources for updates.
