Akwa Ibom Opens Applications for Fully Funded ARISE Tech Talent Accelerator Programme for Oron Youths
The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the commencement of applications for the ARISE Tech Talent Accelerator Programme, a fully funded digital skills training initiative designed to equip unemployed youths in Oron Local Government Area with practical technology and software development skills.
The three-month intensive programme is part of the state’s broader effort to prepare young people for opportunities in the rapidly growing digital economy while reducing unemployment through skills development and innovation.
Training will take place at the newly commissioned Oron Youth Development Centre under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth Development, while course delivery and technical management will be handled by the Ministry of Science and Digital Economy.
Call for Applications: Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to unemployed youths from Oron Local Government Area who are interested in building careers in technology and digital services.
According to the state government, the initiative is suitable for:
- Beginners looking to gain foundational digital skills
- Individuals with existing tech knowledge seeking advanced training
- Young people interested in transitioning into technology-related careers
- Graduates eager to improve their employability in the digital sector
The government noted that this phase is exclusively for residents and indigenes of Oron LGA, while similar opportunities will be extended to other local government areas as additional Youth Development Centres become operational.

Participants will undergo structured training covering digital marketing, software development, cybersecurity, business technology, and workplace productivity tools.
Month One: Digital Foundations
The first phase focuses on introducing participants to essential digital tools and online business skills, including:
- Google Digital Marketing
- Research and Analytics
- Artificial Intelligence in Marketing
- CorelDRAW and Graphic Design
- Digital Content and Layout Design
Month Two: Programming and Cybersecurity
Participants will advance into technical training with courses such as:
- Web Development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
- Python Programming Fundamentals
- Cybersecurity and Digital Protection
- Mobile App Development using Flutter
Month Three: Professional Specialisation
The final classroom phase will cover:
- Microsoft Office Specialist Training
- Business and Brand Design
- Market Research and Go-to-Market Strategy
- Professional Project Development
Work Experience and Certification
After completing the training modules, participants will proceed to a practical work experience phase where they will apply their skills to real-world projects.
The programme will conclude with:
- Industry work placements
- Capstone project development
- Final presentations and assessments
- Graduation ceremony
- Professional certification
