Thousands of applicants who took part in the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) recruitment exercise can now confirm whether they have been selected for appointment.

The Nigeria Customs Service has published the final list of successful candidates for recruitment into the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II), marking another major stage in the nationwide recruitment exercise.

For candidates whose names appear on the list, the recruitment process is not yet over. Successful applicants must complete several mandatory steps before they can proceed to documentation and eventual training.

This guide explains how to check the Nigeria Customs Recruitment Final List 2026, the official portal to use, and the immediate actions required from successful candidates.

Nigeria Customs Recruitment Final List 2026 Now Available

The Nigeria Customs Service has officially released the final list for candidates who participated in its recruitment exercise for the Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II) cadre.

Applicants are advised to verify their status only through official Nigeria Customs platforms and avoid relying on unofficial websites or social media pages that may circulate inaccurate information.

Candidates who have been selected should also keep an eye on their registered email addresses and mobile phone numbers, as further instructions will be communicated through those channels.

How to Check the Nigeria Customs Recruitment Final List

If you applied for the recruitment exercise, you can confirm your selection by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official Nigeria Customs Service recruitment website.
  2. Navigate to the recruitment or announcements section.
  3. Open the page containing the Final List of Successful Candidates.
  4. Search for your name or application details.
  5. Read every instruction carefully if you have been shortlisted.

Applicants should only rely on information published through official Nigeria Customs communication channels.

Official Portal for Checking the Final List

Successful candidates can check their recruitment status through the official Nigeria Customs Service website.

The official portal is: https://www.customs.gov.ng or Download List HERE

Applicants are advised to ignore any website requesting payment before allowing them to access the shortlist. The Nigeria Customs Service does not charge candidates to check recruitment results.

What Selection Means for Successful Candidates

Having your name on the final list is an important achievement, but it does not automatically complete the recruitment process.

Every successful candidate is expected to complete additional verification requirements before receiving a final appointment.

These requirements include:

  • Uploading a valid Medical Certificate of Fitness.
  • Confirming personal information on the recruitment portal.
  • Accepting the provisional offer of appointment.
  • Completing documentation and physical screening when invited.

Failure to complete any of the required stages within the specified period could affect a candidate’s appointment.

Successful Candidates Should Monitor Their Email and SMS

Apart from checking the recruitment portal, shortlisted applicants are encouraged to monitor their registered email addresses and mobile phone numbers regularly.

The Nigeria Customs Service will use these communication channels to provide important information regarding the next stages of the recruitment process, including screening schedules, documentation dates and additional instructions.

Candidates should also ensure that the phone number and email address used during registration remain active throughout the recruitment exercise.

What Happens After Checking Your Name?

Once you have confirmed that your name appears on the final list, the next priority is preparing for the online compliance stage.

The Nigeria Customs Service requires successful candidates to submit additional information before documentation begins. One of the first requirements is the upload of a Medical Certificate of Fitness through the designated recruitment portal.

Candidates who complete these requirements successfully will move to the next phase, where documentation, physical screening and other verification exercises will be conducted.

Medical Certificate Upload Begins on 29 July

One of the first tasks for candidates whose names appear on the final list is the submission of a Medical Certificate of Fitness.

The Nigeria Customs Service has scheduled the activation of the medical upload portal for Wednesday, 29 July 2026. Every successful candidate is expected to obtain a valid medical fitness certificate from a government-recognised hospital before using the portal.

The medical certificate confirms that an applicant is physically fit to undergo training and perform the responsibilities attached to the position.

Candidates are advised not to wait until the last minute to obtain the required document, as the upload window is limited.

Where to Upload the Medical Certificate

The Nigeria Customs Service has provided a dedicated portal for uploading medical certificates.

Successful candidates should complete the upload through:

https://update.customs.gov.ng

Applicants can access the portal using either:

  • Their National Identification Number (NIN), or
  • The email address used during the recruitment application.

Before submitting the document, candidates should ensure that every detail on the certificate is correct and clearly visible to avoid unnecessary delays during verification.

Deadline for Upload

The medical certificate upload portal will remain open for one week after activation.

Candidates are encouraged to complete the process as early as possible rather than waiting until the closing date. Delays caused by network issues or incomplete documentation may prevent late submissions.

Uploading the document within the specified period is one of the conditions for progressing to the next stage of the recruitment exercise.

Accept Your Provisional Appointment

After completing the medical certificate upload, shortlisted candidates are also expected to confirm their interest in the appointment.

This is done by accepting the provisional offer available on the recruitment portal.

Candidates who fail to accept the offer within the stipulated period may be considered to have declined the appointment, which could affect their recruitment status.

Applicants should carefully read every instruction displayed on the portal before confirming acceptance.

Update Your Current Residential Information

The Nigeria Customs Service has also directed successful candidates to update their current state of residence where necessary.

Providing accurate residential information will assist the Service in planning subsequent stages of the recruitment process, including documentation and training arrangements.

Candidates should ensure that every detail submitted matches their official records.

What Is the Trainee Identification Number (TIN)?

After completing the required online procedures and accepting the provisional appointment, successful candidates will be issued a Trainee Identification Number (TIN).

The TIN serves as an official identification number assigned to newly recruited trainees during the recruitment process.

Candidates should keep this number safe, as it may be required during documentation, screening and future correspondence with the Nigeria Customs Service.

Prepare for Documentation and Physical Screening

Completing the online requirements does not mark the end of the recruitment process.

Successful candidates will still be invited for documentation and physical screening before final onboarding.

The Nigeria Customs Service will announce:

  • Documentation dates.
  • Physical screening schedule.
  • Screening centres and venues.
  • Additional documents candidates must present.

These updates will be communicated through the official recruitment portal, registered email addresses and SMS notifications.

Applicants should avoid relying on unofficial social media posts or rumours regarding screening dates.

Important Notice to Successful Candidates

The Nigeria Customs Service has advised all successful applicants to comply fully with every instruction issued during the recruitment process.

Failure to upload the Medical Certificate of Fitness, accept the provisional appointment or complete any mandatory requirement within the approved timeline could result in disqualification.

Candidates are therefore encouraged to monitor official communication channels regularly and respond promptly whenever further instructions are released.
