What the Role Involves
The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the company’s procurement and logistics operations while ensuring materials and equipment are delivered efficiently to support ongoing projects.
The role also involves coordinating suppliers, managing imports and exports, supervising logistics activities and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
The successful applicant will work closely with various departments to ensure projects are completed without unnecessary supply chain delays.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop and implement supply chain policies that support business objectives.
- Coordinate procurement activities from supplier sourcing to contract management.
- Manage relationships with manufacturers, distributors, logistics companies and freight forwarders.
- Supervise international procurement, shipping and customs clearance processes.
- Coordinate the sourcing and supply of Line Pipes and Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG).
- Monitor supplier performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work with finance, operations, sales and business development teams to support project execution.
- Supervise supply chain personnel and monitor team performance.
- Coordinate cargo clearing activities at Nigerian ports.
- Maintain supplier databases and logistics records.
- Monitor inventory levels and support supply chain planning.
- Ensure supply chain operations comply with quality management standards.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements before applying.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following or related disciplines:
- Supply Chain Management
- Engineering
- Business Administration
- Logistics
- Other relevant fields
A Master’s degree or MBA will be considered an added advantage.
Experience
Applicants should have:
- At least 10 years of continuous experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- A minimum of 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Practical experience handling international procurement and logistics operations.
- Previous involvement in EPC, IOC or oilfield service projects.
Professional Certifications
Professional certifications such as the following will be an added advantage:
- CIPS
- CPSM
- APICS/ASCM
- Other recognised supply chain certifications
Skills Required

- Strong procurement and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of Nigerian customs and port clearing procedures.
- Experience with RFQ processing and supplier management.
- Inventory planning and control skills.
- Good analytical ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
