Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Recruitment 2026 Now Open

The Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission has announced the commencement of recruitment into selected health-related positions within the state public service.

Qualified professionals are invited to submit applications for available vacancies in government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs). The recruitment exercise is completely free, and interested applicants are advised not to pay anyone for the application process.

Available Positions

The Commission is recruiting for the following roles:

• Medical/Dental Officer (Grade Level 13)
• Medical Consultant (Grade Level 16)
• Biomedical Engineer (Grade Level 09)
• Radiographer (Grade Level 10)

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must possess the relevant educational qualifications for the position they intend to apply for.

Medical/Dental Officer (GL.13)

Applicants should possess:

• MBBS or Doctor of Medicine (MD)
• Qualification in Medicine, Dental Surgery, Dental Therapy or Dental Technology

Medical Consultant (GL.16)

Applicants must have:

• MBBS or MD
• Specialist qualification in any of the following fields:
  • Anaesthesia
  • Chemical Pathology
  • Community Medicine
  • Dermatology
  • Haematology and Immunology

Biomedical Engineer (GL.09)

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng or B.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering

Radiographer (GL.10)

Applicants must possess:

• B.Sc. or MBBS where applicable
• Qualification in Medical Radiography and Radiological Sciences or Radiography

Job Responsibilities

Successful candidates will perform duties according to their area of specialization.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Providing quality healthcare services to patients.
• Diagnosing and managing medical conditions.
• Carrying out specialist consultations where applicable.
• Operating and maintaining medical equipment.
• Performing diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Supporting effective healthcare delivery in government health facilities.
