Well Known American Presenter Steps Down After 10 Years

Johnnie Walker, a radio presenter for the BBC, has stated that, due to poor health, he will be hanging up his headphones after 58 years of service.

At the end of this month, he will no longer be hosting Sounds of the 70s and The Rock Show on BBC Radio 2.

The 79-year-old announced the news live on Sunday, assuring viewers that he will put on his last performances “as best as I possibly can.”

Bob Harris will take over as host of Sounds of the 70s, and Shaun Keaveny will take over as host of The Rock Show. Walker has pulmonary fibrosis, which is scarring of the lungs. Breathing becomes challenging due to the disease.
