Keanu Reeves Shifts Gears to Pro Racing, Finishes 25th in Inaugural Event
On Saturday, May 10, 24th, Keanu Reeves made his big debut in professional motor racing.
The 60-year-old actor is competing in the Toyota GR Cup this weekend in Indianapolis, where he finished a respectable 25th out of 35 cars in his debut race.
The ‘Speed’ star once crashed out of control on the way out of turn nine, but he managed to get back in and carry on driving by indicating he wasn’t hurt. He also managed to dodge a first-lap pile-up at turn 14.
Keanu once finished the race in as high as 21st place. On Sunday, 06.10.24, the “Matrix” star, who qualified 31st out of 35 vehicles, will compete in another race.
Alongside Cody Jones from Dude Perfect, he is driving the No. 92 BRZRKR car, which has been decorated to promote his new graphic novel, “The Book of Elsewhere.”
Although this is Keanu’s first professional race, he has competed in and even won the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach celebrity race in the past.
In the meantime, Keanu recently revealed how he stumbled on a patch of carpet on the “Good Fortune” set, breaking his knee “like a potato chip” in an unusual mishap.
‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ featured Keanu explaining the situation as follows: “We were in a frigid plunge filming a scene with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen.
