The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched a Digital Research and Capacity Development Programme aimed at equipping undergraduate students in Nigeria with advanced digital skills, modern research methods, and industry-relevant technology competencies.
The initiative is designed to prepare young Nigerians for the future of innovation and digital transformation through structured virtual learning, expert mentorship, and hands-on applied research experience.
According to the programme outline, participants will undergo intensive training in areas such as data analytics, cloud computing, digital transformation frameworks, and solution development, guided by industry experts. The programme also includes access to digital laboratories, research mentorship, and innovation incubation opportunities, alongside monthly stipend support for selected participants.

Eligibility Criteria
The programme is open to:
- 300 and 400 level undergraduate students
- Students currently on Industrial Training (IT)
- Students in science, engineering, and technology fields
- Students in public universities across Nigeria
Eligible disciplines include:
Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Geosciences, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a member of relevant student associations
- Be registered with NOGIC JQS
- Possess a laptop and reliable internet connection
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 in the last academic session
