Ay and Basket Mouth Reunites After 18 Years Rivalry
Renowned Nigerian comedians Ayodeji Richard Makun, often known as AY Comedian, and Bright Okpocha, aka Basketmouth, have resolved their 18-year rivalry.
The long-running spat between the two comedic titans came to an end in andg emotional moment on AY’s podcast, The Glass House Podcast, when they exchanged sincere words and reminisced on years of missed connection.
In a video posted to AY’s Instagram page, the comedians were shown smiling, swapping anecdotes, and discussing their “new realities” following nearly two decades of misunderstandings.
In the beginning of their address, AY introduced his colleagues as “a beast who doesn’t forgive,” which elicited a warm laugh from Basketmouth.
AY, a father of two, captioned the post with excitement, saying, “After 18 years of constant misunderstandings, join me and @Basketmouth on my Glass House Podcast for an unforgettable conversation!”
“Tune in as we share stories, laughter, and insights into our new realities.” The reconciliation has elicited joyful comments on social media, with colleagues entertainers and fans of both comedians expressing excitement and relief at the conclusion of their conflict.”
Many praised the comedians for setting a positive example of togetherness and forgiveness, with the reunion regarded as a watershed moment in Nigerian entertainment.
Recall, Basketmouth, a well-known comedian, reached out to his colleague and erstwhile adversary AY Makun for advise on his upcoming film in a humorous video that sparked excitement among fans.
Basketmouth posted a video on his Instagram page in which he calls AY Makun and asks for advise from prominent movie producers regarding his next film, A Ghetto Love Story, which will be released in theatres on November 22.
He sought counsel from experienced actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, also known as RMD, and set sail for ideas on how to promote his film.
