Some investors using Bamboo were unable to log into the investment platform on Monday, September 14, 2026, after a surge in users trying to participate in the Dangote Refinery public offer overwhelmed the platform.

Bamboo acknowledged the login problem in a statement posted on its official X account, saying it was experiencing much higher-than-expected traffic from users attempting to access the Dangote IPO.

The platform said the heavy traffic was making it difficult for some users to log into the Bamboo app.

“We’re working on a fix, and it will be up and running shortly,” Bamboo said.

The company did not initially provide a specific timeline for when the login problem would be fully resolved.

The disruption came as the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE ₦2.15 trillion public offer opened to investors, with retail investors using digital investment platforms, banks and other approved channels to submit applications.

Bamboo is one of the platforms participating in the offer.

For investors who are currently unable to access their Bamboo accounts, the login problem appears to be linked to the unusually high traffic on the platform. Users should wait for Bamboo to restore access and check its official channels for further updates.

Investors should also avoid giving their Bamboo password, PIN, OTP or other security information to anyone claiming they can fix the login problem or submit an application on their behalf.

The Dangote Refinery offer is available through multiple approved channels, so investors who cannot access Bamboo can check the official subscription page for other options:

The Bamboo disruption highlights the pressure that the Dangote Refinery offer is putting on digital investment platforms as large numbers of Nigerian retail investors seek access to the public offer.

Between January and July 2026, Bamboo reportedly accounted for 3.8 million equity transactions, representing about 22% of all equity deals on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) during the period.

The strong demand for access to the Dangote offer is therefore also testing the capacity of investment platforms to handle sudden increases in traffic.

Investors who successfully submitted their applications before the login problem should keep their confirmation or transaction details. A successful subscription confirmation should also not be confused with share allotment, which will be determined under the terms of the public offer after the subscription period.

NigeriaOpportunities.com will provide further updates as information on the Bamboo login issue and Dangote Refinery public offer becomes available.
