Bolanle Ninalowo Discloses Reason His Daughter Has A Navel Ring

Bolanle Ninalowo, a renowned Nollywood actor, discusses his decision to assist his daughter, Aliyah, in piercing her navel, seeing it as a step towards strengthening their father-daughter bond.

In an honest interview with media personality VJ Adams, Ninalowo stated that Aliyah, who recently turned 18, wanted to pierce her tongue at first.

However, he was uncomfortable and urged she look into other choices.

Aliyah later suggested a navel piercing, which he agreed to because it was less permanent and easy to remove. Ninalowo recalled the experience:

“I remember one day my kid woke me up and said she wanted to have a tongue ring, and I was like, what?! I would never say anything like that to my father; I couldn’t even tell him I wanted to grow a beard”.

“I knew that this was what her friends and peers were doing, and it was difficult to convince her otherwise when she went to school and saw all of her friends wearing it.”

“I paused for a moment before saying, ‘Yo Aliyah, a tongue ring, I wouldn’t want to kiss a girl with a tongue ring; think about something else.’

” And she said, “Okay, I’ll think about it.” He also stated that when Aliyah recommended the navel piercing, he saw it as an opportunity to foster trust and intimacy. I drove her there myself.”

“As much as I would like not to, it was an opportunity for me to connect, and I would not turn it down,” he continued.

Following his separation from his wife, Bunmi, last year, the actor pondered on his parenting style, citing irreconcilable differences. The former couple has two children: Aliyah, their eldest, and Morakinyo.
