BREAKING:Computer based WASSCE starts friday

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates, 2024 – Second Series, will take place from Friday, October 25, to Friday, December 20, 2024.

In a statement released on Tuesday, WAEC indicated that this examination will utilize a hybrid format. The registration period has now been extended until Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

The hybrid format means that while objective or multiple-choice questions will be displayed on-screen for candidates to answer electronically, essay and practical questions will also be shown on-screen, but responses must be written in provided answer booklets.

Additionally, candidates have the option to take the entire examination using the Paper and Pen method if they prefer.

WAEC also announced that the “Walk-in Candidate” option will be available at the end of the registration period, allowing candidates to register up to 24 hours before their chosen paper. The complete examination timetable can be downloaded from the WAEC Nigeria website.

The Council encourages both prospective and registered candidates to utilize the various learning resources available, such as the WAEC e-Study platform, purchasing past exam question books, and engaging with peers on the WAECKonnect platform.

WAEC wishes all candidates success in their upcoming examinations and remains committed to enhancing its services through technological innovations for easier access by all stakeholders.
