Ecobank Nigeria Unveils ₦60m Super Rewards Campaign to Mark 40th Anniversary

Ecobank Nigeria has rolled out a massive customer reward initiative to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its parent company, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated. The campaign, tagged the Super Rewards Promo, will see customers nationwide share in over ₦60 million worth of cash prizes, grants, and lifestyle rewards between September 2025 and January 2026.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the bank announced that a total of 914 winners will emerge during the five-month campaign, which is designed both as a celebration of Ecobank Group’s four decades of operations across Africa and a gesture of appreciation to loyal customers.

Rewards Across Customer Categories

Breaking down the prize structure, Ecobank explained that the rewards are spread across individual customers, business owners, and students, with each group having tailored benefits:

  • Individual Accounts: 420 winners will emerge from monthly draws, sharing ₦16.8m. In addition, eight grand prize winners will each receive ₦1m at the grand finale in January 2026.

  • Business Accounts: 420 winners will also emerge in this category, sharing another ₦16.8m. Four grand prize winners will each receive ₦4m in funding support for their businesses.

  • Student Accounts: 50 students will each win ₦40,000 monthly, amounting to ₦2m over the campaign period. At the grand finale, four students will each receive ₦400,000 in education grants, totalling ₦1.6m.

According to the bank, prizes will include not only cash rewards but also stipends, scholarships, business support funds, and other lifestyle-enhancing packages.

How to Qualify

Victor Yalokwu, Ecobank Nigeria’s Head of Products & Analytics, Consumer & Commercial Banking, highlighted the simplicity of the qualification process.

  • For individuals, opening a new account with a minimum of ₦10,000 and maintaining it for 30 days qualifies for the monthly draws. To qualify for the grand finale prize, customers must maintain a balance of at least ₦40,000 for three consecutive months.

  • For businesses, accounts must be opened with a minimum of ₦40,000 and maintained for 30 days. To qualify for the grand prize, companies must show growth in deposits of at least ₦400,000.

  • For students, active participation is encouraged through dedicated student accounts, with straightforward requirements designed to give young people equal opportunity to win.

All participants are also required to transact through Ecobank’s digital platforms including the Ecobank Mobile App, USSD banking (*326#), Ecobank Online, and the OmniLite/OmniPlus platforms for businesses  further promoting the bank’s vision of a digitally inclusive financial ecosystem.

Speaking at the launch in Lagos, Yalokwu explained that the promo is not just about giveaways but about celebrating Ecobank’s legacy in Africa and rewarding those who have made the journey possible: its customers.

“This year’s campaign is a special celebration of Ecobank Group’s 40 years of operations across Africa. It is to show appreciation to our customers by rewarding their loyalty even as we deliver first-class banking services to them,” Yalokwu said.

He added that the campaign is open to new and existing individual, business, and youth customers nationwide, including those who reactivate dormant accounts and meet the required deposit and transaction criteria.

Ecobank explained that the Super Rewards Promo is not only about marking four decades of operation but also part of its broader push for financial inclusion, customer engagement, and digital banking adoption.

By encouraging account opening and reactivation, as well as consistent use of digital channels, the bank aims to deepen customer relationships while providing opportunities for individuals, SMEs, and students to access funding, savings culture benefits, and improved financial literacy.

Industry observers have noted that promos of this nature have become a staple in Nigeria’s highly competitive banking sector. However, Ecobank’s focus on diverse categories from students to SMEs positions it as a campaign that extends beyond mere giveaways into capacity building and empowerment.
