#EndBadGovernance: Minister assures action on welfare of arraigned minors

The Federal Government has announced that efforts are underway to enhance the welfare of minors detained for their alleged involvement in the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests.

This was revealed by Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of Youth Development, in a statement released on Friday.

Earlier today, chaos erupted at the Federal High Court in Abuja when several of the detained minors collapsed, raising concerns about their health and nutrition after three months in custody.

The court subsequently ordered their release on bail, set at N10 million each, while the prosecutor requested that the charges against those who collapsed be dropped.

In response to these events, Olawande stated that the ministry is collaborating with the Ministry of Interior to investigate the situation and improve the conditions for the youth in custody, not only in this specific case but across all detention facilities nationwide.

“The Ministry is dedicated to protecting the interests and welfare of young Nigerians, regardless of their location,” the statement emphasized.
