FG ready for youth development- Minister
The Minister of State for Youth Development, Olawande Ayodele, stated that the Federal Government is fully prepared to enhance national unity and support youth development across the country. He made this announcement during a meeting with a delegation from the Nigeria Youths Union (NYU) at his office in Abuja.
In a statement released on Wednesday, which was signed by NYU President Chinonso Obasi, the minister responded to various demands presented by the youth group. Obasi highlighted the delegation’s call for the reorganization of the Nigerian youth framework and the need for initiatives that promote national cohesion.
“The NYU President emphasized how deeply the ongoing economic challenges, insecurity, unemployment, and insufficient infrastructure are affecting Nigerian youth,” the statement reported.
In his remarks to the delegation, Minister Ayodele commended the NYU for its efforts in advocating for significant improvements in areas such as primary healthcare, local government autonomy, youth participation in governance, anti-corruption initiatives, and the regulation of illegal mining activities.
He expressed the ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the NYU to tackle these pressing issues. “The Nigerian Youth Union has consistently led the charge for a better future for Nigeria,” the minister noted. “We are eager to partner on initiatives that promote national unity and foster the growth of our youth.”
