FULL LIST: Covenant emerges Nigeria’s best university for 2024
Covenant University has once again claimed the top position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2024. This recognition underscores the Ota-based institution’s leadership in the Nigerian higher education sector, as it outperformed numerous other prestigious universities in the country.
The Times Higher Education ranking evaluated a total of 1,907 universities from 108 countries, utilizing 18 distinct performance indicators across five critical categories: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook. In this comprehensive assessment, Covenant University emerged as Nigeria’s leading institution, surpassing prominent competitors such as the University of Ibadan, the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and the University of Lagos, which ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
The 2024 rankings reflect notable shifts in the global landscape of higher education. The analysis included over 134 million citations derived from 16.5 million research publications, alongside survey responses from more than 68,000 scholars worldwide.
