The Lagos State Government has officially launched the 2026 edition of the Eko Schools Arts and Crafts Competition, inviting talented students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions across the state to participate.

The competition, organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, is designed to encourage creativity, artistic expression, and innovation among young people while providing a platform for emerging talents to showcase their skills.

Submission Portal Now Open

According to the official announcement, the online submission portal became active on Monday, May 25, 2026. Interested participants are expected to complete and submit their entries on or before the closing date of Monday, June 15, 2026.

Students who fail to submit their work before the deadline may not be considered for the competition, so early submission is strongly advised.

Who Can Participate?

The competition is strictly open to:

  • Registered secondary school students in Lagos State
  • Students from recognized tertiary institutions within Lagos State
  • Participants who completed the official registration process

Organizers emphasized that only registered applicants will be eligible for screening and selection.

Aim of the Competition

The Eko Schools Arts and Crafts Competition was created to support the growth of creative talents in Lagos and inspire students to explore careers and opportunities within the arts and creative industry.

The initiative also seeks to:

  • Promote cultural creativity among students
  • Discover and support young artistic talents
  • Encourage innovation through arts and crafts
  • Strengthen youth participation in creative development programs
