Ned Nwoko Denies Seeking Reconciliation With Regina Daniels, Insists Marriage Is Over
Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, has publicly dismissed claims that he is attempting to reconcile with his estranged wife, Nollywood actress and filmmaker Regina Daniels, insisting that he has no intention of bringing her back into his home. His response comes amid escalating tensions and a storm of accusations that have turned their marital issues into a highly publicized crisis.
The controversy intensified on Monday when Regina took to Instagram to allege that Nwoko had been repeatedly contacting her despite her clear statement that she no longer wished to remain in the marriage. In her lengthy posts, she claimed the senator was attempting to “ruin” her both publicly and privately in what she described as an attempt to gain custody of their children. She further threatened to expose what she insisted were his “illicit activities” should he continue interfering in her life.
Nwoko countered these allegations on Tuesday through a formal statement issued on his official Facebook page. According to him and his communications team, the last time he had any conversation with Regina was on October 17, and he had made no attempts to contact her since then. His team insisted the claims of constant calls and reconciliation efforts were “false” and that the senator’s primary concern was her deteriorating condition—which, according to them, stemmed from drug abuse.
They stated that Nwoko was not trying to bring her back but was urging her to undergo therapy or rehabilitation for her well-being. The statement alleged that Regina had long been under the influence of hard drugs and that her recent public claims were “lies from the pit of hell.” They dismissed her accusations of drug involvement and sexual misconduct as “wild imagination” and said none of it could be proven.
To support their claims, the team shared the contents of the last WhatsApp message Nwoko sent to Regina on October 17. In that message, he expressed frustration over her lifestyle, her refusal to go to bed at reasonable hours, and her habit of hosting friends late into the night. He warned that he would no longer finance her lifestyle unless she resumed therapy or checked into a rehabilitation centre. According to the statement, her behaviour became erratic afterward—leading to violent outbursts, property destruction, and increasing personal neglect.
The communication team also mentioned a disturbing incident they called the “bedroom saga.” They alleged that Nwoko once woke around 5 a.m. to find Regina secretly filming him in the bathroom, and later posting the footage online—an act they said highlighted her irrationality at the time.
The senator’s team insisted his actions were motivated solely by concern for her safety and the well-being of their two sons, claiming she became particularly unstable after celebrating her birthday with friends, during which they allegedly engaged in days of heavy partying, drugs, and clashes with hotel guests and police.
However, Regina Daniels firmly rejected these narratives. In her series of Instagram posts, she accused Nwoko of introducing her to drugs—specifically ecstasy (Molly)—which she claimed he encouraged her to use for his own sexual gratification. She accused him of controlling her life since she was 17, subjecting her to emotional manipulation, and attempting to tarnish her reputation so he could take custody of their children. Regina also threatened to expose alleged illegal dealings if he continued what she described as harassment and character assassination.
She expressed exhaustion from the years of being “trapped” in the marriage, saying she only wanted freedom and peace. Regina insisted she had been a good wife and mother and asked the senator to move on with a new wife instead of focusing his energy on her. She also accused him of using influence to attempt shutting down her Instagram page and manipulating public perception.
With both sides presenting conflicting accounts, the saga continues to unfold publicly, drawing widespread attention and commentary. For now, Senator Nwoko maintains that reconciliation is off the table, while Regina Daniels insists she only seeks to reclaim her life and reputation after years of alleged control and mistreatment.
