“Reform Necessary For Nigeria’s Economic Growth” – Tinubu
According to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his administration’s economic reforms are essential to promoting Nigeria’s and Nigerians’ development.
At the commencement of the 24th Comptroller-General of Customs Conference in Abuja, he announced this through the National Security Adviser (NSA).
It is important to remember that Nigerians have been complaining about the present administration’s policies, which include, among other things, the elimination of gasoline subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate system.
However, Tinubu pointed out that these economic changes are necessary measures in building a more sustainable and transparent economic system.
He asserts that these measures will reroute funds into profitable ventures that will help Nigerians in the long run. Additionally, he reaffirmed that his plan to fortify Nigeria’s economy is moving forward as intended.
He clarified that the administration had concentrated on bolstering successful programs, improving areas that required work, and launching fresh projects to fill in the gaps.
“I had a clear and unwavering vision when I took office last year: to strengthen Nigeria’s economic foundation and promote constructive growth and development for the benefit of all,” he said.
That vision is still the same after 18 months. In order to achieve this goal, we have strengthened the foundations that already existed while implementing the essential changes to accommodate our changing economic conditions.
In order to better serve our country’s interests and the welfare of our citizens, we realised that certain economic policies, while beneficial at the time, needed to be realigned with the dynamics of the modern world.
“Even though these choices necessitated temporary modifications, they were essential for long-term economic expansion and prosperity for every Nigerian.”
