TVET Batch B Training is expected to commence today. see details below…

Beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Batch B programme are expected to begin training on May 18, 2026.

Applicants who were selected for the programme are advised to prepare ahead and report to their assigned training centres on time once activities officially begin.

The update comes as the Federal Ministry of Education continues efforts to strengthen monitoring and transparency across all TVET training centres nationwide.

Biometric Attendance Is Now Mandatory

One major update beneficiaries should pay attention to is the full enforcement of biometric attendance verification across all approved TVET centres.

According to the Ministry, biometric verification is now the only approved method for monitoring attendance under the programme.

This policy was first introduced during Batch A and officially took effect from February 1, 2026, after training centres were directed to install biometric systems for attendance tracking.

Important Notice for TVET Batch B Beneficiaries

The Ministry explained that monthly stipends and payments to training centres will now depend completely on verified biometric attendance records.

This means beneficiaries who fail to complete attendance verification may lose their monthly stipend.

Training centres that do not comply with the biometric policy may also face penalties, including removal from the programme.

Affected trainees could later be moved to centres that fully comply with the new attendance system.

What TVET Batch B Participants Should Do Now

Beneficiaries are advised to:

  • Confirm their training centre details
  • Resume promptly once training begins
  • Follow instructions from programme officials
  • Participate fully in biometric verification
  • Maintain regular attendance during the programme

Participants are also encouraged to monitor official TVET and Federal Ministry of Education channels for further updates.

FG Says Policy Will Improve Transparency

The Federal Ministry of Education said the biometric system is necessary to improve accountability and ensure government support reaches only verified participants.

Officials added that the policy will help protect public funds while improving monitoring across participating training centres nationwide.

For many beneficiaries, the programme remains an opportunity to learn practical vocational skills while receiving financial support during the training period.
