Visa Hitch Stops Gospel Singer Moses Bliss From Performing at 60,000-Capacity Concert in Tanzania

Dar es Salaam, October 4, 2025 — Nigerian gospel sensation Moses Bliss was left stranded at the Dar es Salaam International Airport after immigration officials denied him entry into Tanzania, preventing him from performing at a major Christian concert expected to draw over 60,000 worshippers.

The “Too Faithful” crooner, who had just concluded a ministration in Kenya, was scheduled to perform at a free worship concert on October 2. However, visa complications disrupted the plans.

In a video shared on Instagram, Bliss explained that his team had been assured of visa-on-arrival approval by organizers, but upon arrival at midnight, immigration officials refused entry.

“Hello my family in Tanzania. I’m here, but I’m not allowed to come in. It’s unfortunate I couldn’t worship with you today,” he said in the video. “I heard there were about 60,000 of you who came out. I’m so sorry — I did my best.”

According to Bliss, his team spent more than six hours at the airport seeking a resolution and even attempted to reach high-level authorities for intervention — to no avail.

Describing the incident as heartbreaking, the award-winning artist revealed that his team had invested heavily in logistics to make the event completely free for attendees.

“We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to make this event absolutely free for people to worship Jesus,” he lamented.

Despite the disappointment, Bliss extended gratitude to his Tanzanian supporters for their massive turnout and promised to return soon.

“Tanzania, you were not at fault. You came ready for God, and that moves me deeply. I owe you not just an apology, but a promise — by God’s grace, I will return,” he said.

The singer and his team later returned to Nairobi, Kenya, where they confirmed plans to reorganize and reschedule another worship event in Tanzania.

The situation sparked mixed reactions online. While many fans sympathized with Bliss and criticized Tanzanian immigration procedures, others faulted his management for poor travel planning, noting that visa-on-arrival for Nigerians has been inconsistent in Tanzania in recent years.

Moses Bliss, one of Nigeria’s most popular gospel acts, rose to fame with his 2019 hit “Too Faithful” and has since performed across Africa and beyond.
