Dj Jackmaster Dies At Age 38 In Ibiza

Jackmaster, a well-known Scottish DJ who gained international recognition, passed away on Saturday, October 12, at the age of 38.

The man who co-founded Numbers, a record label and club night, was well-known for his taste in music and his ability to move across genres with ease.

A statement on the musician’s Instagram page said, “Jack tragically passed away in Ibiza on the morning of October 12, following complications arising from an accidental head injury.”

The message went on, “His family—Kate, Sean, and Johnny—are utterly heartbroken.” “The family respectfully wants privacy as they work through the great sadness of this heartbreaking loss, but they are genuinely moved by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and fans.

“Jack was a beloved and pioneering figure in the electronic music community both in front of and behind the scenes because of his passion for music and his relentless drive to push creative boundaries through his work at the Numbers label and Rubadub Records in Glasgow, including discovering countless innovative artists.”

He gained the respect and admiration of peers and fans worldwide for his ability to fuse different genres and create dynamic DJ sets and creations.

Revill was born in Glasgow in 1986 and began his career at Rubadub record shop before becoming a regular at techno dance Monox at the age of 17.

He received the Breakthrough DJ title at DJ Magazine’s Best Of British Awards in 2010. Revill sparked outrage in 2018 after sexually assaulting several women at the Love Saves The Day Festival in Bristol.

The DJ privately apologised to individuals he assaulted and later claimed that he overdosed on GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate), a nervous system depressant, at the time of the incident.
