Druski Slammed Over New Video Content Portraying Nigerians As Scammers
Druski’s skit titled ‘African fraudsters be living they greatest life,’ depicted a scammer named Baba Oluwatosin using illicit tactics to steal other people’s money.
The video also demonstrated the use of the naira and many Nigerian ATM cards.
The skit was posted on X on October 21, 2024, and drew mixed reviews from X users, with the majority of Nigerians condemning Druski’s content selection.
He has subsequently been marked as insensitive and asked to remove the message.
An enraged Nigerian wrote, “We don’t find this trash skit funny, please delete before morning, thank you.”
Daniel Regha, a social media figure, also expressed his displeasure, writing,
“This is beyond callous; Nigerians are frequently called scammers simply because of our nationality, with no reason or proof, and you are promoting the stereotype with this awful content.
Is this really the best you can say about Nigerians after spending so much time there? Disgraceful.”
Another person wrote, “Druski, I love you and everything you do, but this isn’t it brodie, you went to one of Africa’s largest countries and didn’t come up with any better content idea other than showing the world that there are “fraudsters” there, whereas Kai, Speed, and co have been going to Asian countries where fraudsters are in abundance, but they don’t do shit like this. “Do better, broski.”
“Dear Druski, Nigerians are not scammers. “Please delete this skit; don’t spoil our image to the world,” another X user commented.
