The Federal Government has officially fixed the commencement date for Cohort 2 of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme, with successful beneficiaries expected to begin training from Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Ahead of the training exercise, accredited TVET training centres have started notifying selected participants about the induction programme and other important requirements they must complete before classes begin.
The latest update comes as thousands of successful applicants across Nigeria prepare to begin hands-on vocational training under the Federal Government’s skills development initiative.
TVET Cohort 2 Induction Date
According to notices issued by several accredited training centres, all successful beneficiaries in Cohort 2 are expected to attend an Induction Ceremony on Monday, June 29, 2026.
The induction exercise is designed to introduce participants to the programme, explain the training guidelines, and complete the final documentation process before practical sessions commence.
Training centres informed beneficiaries that additional information, including their training timetable and daily schedule, will be communicated after the induction.
Part of the notice reads:
“We are pleased to inform you that the Induction Ceremony for Cohort 2 has been scheduled for Monday, 29th June, 2026. The training sessions will commence thereafter from 1st July, 2026. Further details regarding the training schedule will be communicated in due course.”
Training Begins July 1
Following the induction, practical and classroom training will officially commence on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at accredited training centres nationwide.
Participants are advised to report to their assigned centres as instructed and comply with all programme guidelines throughout the training period.
The TVET Programme is one of the Federal Government’s efforts to equip Nigerians with practical vocational and technical skills that can improve employability, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.
Documents Required for the Induction
Beneficiaries attending the induction have also been instructed to come along with:
- One photocopy of their Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Any other documents that may be requested by their assigned training centre
The CV will be used to complete participant documentation before the commencement of training.
Important Notice on Thumbprint Enrollment
Training centres also issued a strong warning to applicants who failed to complete the mandatory 10 Fingers Thumbprint Enrollment during the registration process.
According to the notice, affected applicants have already been removed from the programme and will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming training.
The statement noted:
“Please note that any person who did not complete the 10 Fingers Thumbprint Enrollment has been unregistered from the programme and no longer has a place in the upcoming training at our centre.”
Beneficiaries are therefore advised to ensure they completed all registration requirements before reporting for the induction exercise.
What Beneficiaries Should Do Now
If you were selected for TVET Cohort 2, you should:
- Attend the induction ceremony on Monday, June 29, 2026.
- Arrive with at least one photocopy of your CV.
